4X6 Weekly Art and A Masculine Card

Hey there, hope everyone is doing well.

I'm linking up just this 4x6 piece to Sunday Postcard Art's Vessels theme, hosted by Cindy.

Now on to the card. I thought the 4X6 piece would make a great guy card as the focal image. I left off a sentiment for now until I know the recipient as I can go serious or punny with this.
SUPPLY LIST:
White and light blue card stocks
Scrap of Magenta designer paper on back
Technique Junkies Van Gogh's Sailboats stamp
Versafine Clair Paradise Blue ink
Clear embossing powder
Crafters Companion 5x7 Ocean Waves embossing folder
Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink
Dina Wakley 6x9 Mighty Waves stencil
 Water droplet dots

I chose this Splitcoaststampers sketch for my 6X8 layout design.
I did heat embossing (sailboats), dry embossing (the top waves under the sailboats) and stenciling (bottom layer). Also kept it CAS and monochrome.

On back, a scrap of some pretty water-themed designer paper and a leftover strip of stenciling from the front.

Close-up to show the textures of the embossing and waterdrops.

And final view.
Thanks for the visit and have a great FriYay!

I like both but when I do a guy card, especially a CAS one, I keep it clean.

Congrats-Take A Bow!

 Happy Tuesday!
Hope all is well with you and yours.

I have a card to share with you that I mailed off today, so I figured I'd better post it before challenges expired. I used a pre-colored digi since I'm keeping coloring off the table still (due to my hand). And the star and rainbow on her cap led me to feed off that for the card colors and embellishments. And since I'm fond of the recipient, I included the hearts, which are stamped and die cut, as is the rainbow . I did color that with colored pencils, but it took 2 minutes and I was careful.

I chose this sketch from the current challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2, resizing to 5.5x5.5 -inch for my layout design.

SUPPLY LIST:
SU card stock
Honey Bee Team Tie-Dye and Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow designer papers
Polkadoodles Rainbow Rebel pre-colored digital image
QuicKutz Studio Alpha dies
MFT Rainbow, Heart and Star dies

The back of the card with the front using more of the Lawn Fawn dp and a yellow scrap strip I stamped the siggie on.

Final view.
Thanks for the visit and have a great day.

I like the look of lots of CAS cards, but I always seem to go fussy because it's more my natural style and when I do CAS it always looks unfinished to me.
Part A: Rainbow + Part B: Stamped hearts
Inkspirational #314: Mood Board
I was inspired by the rainbow colors, the type and the pencils look like stripes.

Blue Skies Birthday

 Happy Saturday!
Hope all is well with you and yours.
I had my first physical therapy yesterday and the therapist told me the pain would be bad for a while and get worse before it gets better. And she was correct! Ugh.

So, I made a birthday card using the 4x6 art I posted yesterday as the focal image.
I usually show any card I make with my smaller art in the same post, but I just didn't have the energy for more photo editing/typing. And I'm not linking this card to any of the challenges I linked to yesterday, so I think that's fair.
I used Basic Grey Obscure 12x12 designer paper and white card stock for the base and the layer embossed with a Spellbinders A9 Intertwined Lattice folder. I used a blending brush to add some yellow neon ink to the exposed embossed layer. On the BG paper layers, I edge-distressed them with a distressing tool.

I chose this Splitcoastsampers sketch for my layout design.

On the back of the card, I used another piece of the BG Obscure designer paper and a stamped SeeD's sentiment.

You can read how I made the 4x6 focal piece HERE.
I did do a couple of things to the focal image for this card. I took a small blending brush and yellow neon ink to exptend the sunrays down over the bottom cloud and into the flowers. I also stamped Hero Arts and PoppyStamps Whittle sentiments in the middle.
I went bigger than usual with the card base, making a 6x8 card. And I like the size a lot, so much so that I invested in some 7x9 envelopes for future use. This card base size is do-able with 12x12 and 9x12 card stocks, both of which I have.
Thanks for visiting today and have a wonderful weekend.
